Welcome Week

Welcome Week takes place in September, a few days prior to the beginning of classes. A variety of academic and social activities for new and returning students are held during this time. For more information, visit the Welcome Week website.

Graduate Students

Incoming graduate students are strongly encouraged to take the Campuswide New Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation Canvas course. The Campuswide New Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation covers all aspects of navigating graduate education at UC Irvine, including graduate student services. It augments school/department-based orientations, and students should attend both. The Canvas course contains modules specifically for international graduate students and covers unique aspects of the international graduate student experience, and provides information on campus support services. Information about the Campuswide New Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation is e-mailed to incoming graduate students during the summer a few weeks before the course opens on Canvas. Inquiries may be directed to gradorientation@uci.edu, and details are available at the Graduate Welcome and Orientation website.
