Chinese Studies, Minor
Minoring in the Chinese Studies program provides students the critical knowledge needed to pursue a career involving China. Students graduate equipped with the cultural knowledge and skills required for futures in international business, law, government and non-governmental service, journalism, education, and other evolving fields.

If a student is exempted from CHINESE 2C, an upper-division course on a Chinese topic offered by the East Asian Studies Department is required.

Other courses may be applied by petition from the undergraduate faculty director of the East Asian Studies Department.
Residence Requirement for the Minor: A minimum of four upper-division courses required for the minor must be completed successfully at UCI. By petition, two of the four may be taken through the UC Education Abroad Program, providing course content is approved in advance by the appropriate department chair.
