Bilingual Education in Asian Languages, Minor

The School of Education, in collaboration with the Department of East Asian Studies, offers a minor in Bilingual Education in Asian Languages. This program aims to equip UCI undergraduate students with the skills necessary for developing multilingual and global citizenship, and to support students in achieving success in their future careers and life endeavors. The minor can be completed by any UCI student regardless of major.

A higher level language course may be used in place of JAPANSE 103C, KOREAN 103C, and CHINESE 103C. Substitutions must be approved by the faculty undergraduate director.

Residence Requirement: A minimum of four upper-division courses required for the minor must be completed successfully at UCI. By petition, two of the four may be taken through the UC Education Abroad Program, providing course content is approved in advance by the appropriate department chair.
