Japanese Language and Literature, Minor
Minoring in the Japanese program will give students foundational knowledge needed to pursue a career involving this important Pacific Rim nation. Students will be equipped with linguistic and cultural skills and be prepared in a variety of endeavors, such as international business, law, government service, journalism, teaching, and other careers involved with public affairs.

Other courses may be applied by petition with approval from the Undergraduate Faculty Director of the East Asian Studies department.
Residence Requirement for the Minor: A minimum of four upper-division courses required for the minor must be completed successfully at UCI. By petition, two of the four may be taken through the UC Education Abroad Program, providing course content is approved in advance by the appropriate department chair.
